All-Gender Fragrances: The Heart of evrýs

Is adding “all-gender” or “gender-neutral” to our product names really necessary?

Yes. Absolutely.

When I started creating candles and matching body fragrances for evrýs, I never imagined how much these words would mean. It all started with a question from a friend. He messaged me about our fragrance, the meadow, and asked, “Do you think this scent would work for me?”

At first, I replied without hesitation: Of course! Why wouldn’t it? But his question stayed with me long after our conversation.

It reminded me of something my nephew once said when he started painting his nails: “Fingernails don’t have genders.”

And he’s right.

What is gender anyway?

When I think about the meadow, with its top notes of fresh grass, bright orange peel, and warm agave, I don’t think about gender. These elements are simply parts of this wild and beautiful world we all get to call home—there for everyone to enjoy.

The truth is, pink isn’t a gender. A flower isn’t a gender. Vanilla isn’t a gender. Even the word “perfume” isn’t a gender.

Yet society has long placed limits on how we express ourselves, boxing us into arbitrary rules about what’s “masculine” or “feminine.” And for what? There’s no benefit to denying anyone the joy of life’s beauty. Scent, like color or texture, is universal—it transcends those outdated ideas.

At evrýs, when we say our products are created for every gender, we mean it. We believe in celebrating individuality and breaking free from those societal boxes. Whether you’re drawn to the warm notes of sandalwood, the vibrant sweetness of wildflowers, or the grounding aroma of cedarwood, those scents aren’t tied to a specific gender. They’re tied to the memories they create and the feelings they inspire.

You are as much a part of this beautiful world as a bouquet of red roses, the beachy aroma of a freshly made piña colada, or the smoky ember of a bonfire drifting into the evening sky.

Our goal is simple: to create fragrances that reflect and enhance the beauty in every person, because your presence is just as unique and unforgettable as the scents we craft.

So yes, adding “all-gender” is necessary. It’s our way of saying we see you, we celebrate you, and we create with you in mind.
