A New Scent: Behind the Scenes at evrýs
Ever wonder how a scent is born?
It doesn’t begin in a lab or on a spreadsheet. Not here, anyway. At evrýs, scent starts with something more human. A memory. A season. A feeling that’s hard to name but unmistakable when it shows up.
Sometimes it’s sparked by a single note—neroli, sandalwood, or smoked clove—and we build around it slowly, curiously, layering until something deeper emerges. Other times, it’s a mood: the hush of a library in winter (hello, the study), the sun-warmed citrus of late spring (orchard), or the lingering quiet of a late summer campfire (embers).
We don’t create for trends, and we definitely don’t create for gender. We create for people. For how it feels to be in your own skin, to find comfort in a scent that makes you feel seen, grounded, energized, or held.
Making Scents
Trial And Error
Each evrýs fragrance takes time. It’s tested on real skin. It’s lived in. We adjust until it settles just right—until it says what we want it to say without a single word.
And truthfully? Not every scent makes the cut. Some blends smell like… well, nothing great. We’ve had plenty of duds—fragrance tests that made us laugh out loud or wrinkle our noses before even getting the lid back on. When that happens, we go back to the drawing board (or the scent mat, in our case) and start again.
It’s all part of the process. We’re not rushing to get it right—we’re listening. Because when we do get it right, the scent lets us know. It’s unmistakable. It settles in, soft but certain, and tells us: I’m the one.
What we’re building at evrýs is more than candles and fragrance sprays. We’re building a space for people who’ve never quite felt at home in traditional beauty aisles or gendered marketing. A space where scent is a personal ritual—not a label to conform to.
So if you’ve ever wondered how a scent begins, the answer is simple: with care, with intention, and always, with you in mind.
Because fragrance is for every body.
